This bright and airy semi-detached cottage rests in the idyllic village of Gosforth amongst beautiful Lakeland scenery. Well-presented over three floors, Wainwright Cottage invites families of five seeking a charming base on the edge of the Lake District. The open-plan living space is the social hub of the home, complete with all the essentials for a week away; take over the kitchen and conjure up a delicious feast for the family before gathering at the breakfast bar and toasting to a much-needed break. After a food slump, collapse on the settee and catch up on your favourite TV shows whilst the woodburning stove gently heats the space. Move to the first floor and discover two bedrooms, a king-size and a single, serviced by a contemporary shower room. The third bedroom lies on the second floor and includes a super-king-size bed with stunning views. To the exterior of Wainwright Cottage is an enclosed rear garden, offering a decked space with furniture so you can enjoy alfresco dining on a warm evening. Within a moments' walk you can find the dining options of The Wild Olive and Gosforth Hall Inn, as well as a well-stocked convenience store. From Wainwright Cottage you can easily access the coast; hop in the car and drive to Seascale, where you can lounge on the golden beaches and paddle in the shores, or test out your swing at the Golf Course. For a different way to explore the region, the fantastic Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is a superb choice for railway enthusiasts, whilst history lovers will find fun exploring the ruins of Ravenglass Roman Bath House and the grounds at Muncaster Castle. The bustling hubs of Bowness, Ambleside and Windermere aren’t far, offering a range of restaurants, pubs, shops and family-friendly attractions - you can’t miss them when holidaying in the Lake District! Enjoy a relaxing break in a scenic Cumbria location at Wainwright Cottage.
The little community of Gosforth, which is made up of a few old cottages, farm houses, and pubs that serve delicious food, is situated in the picturesque Lakeland countryside. The community has deep historical roots and proudly displays the tallest and oldest Viking Cross in England. Additionally, the church is home to numerous fascinating artefacts, including the Hogsback Tombs. The majestic mountains of Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell, and Muncaster Fell are nearby, as are the towering summits of Scafell, England's highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Wasdale, and Dunnerdale. The Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre, and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway are just a few of the nearby tourist attractions. Everybody will enjoy this fantastic setting.
