Just 10 minutes drive from the motorway and Lake Ullswater makes Berrier an ideal location for those looking for a base from which to explore north Cumbria. Keswick is a 15 minute drive, the Eden Valley, historic Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall are all easily accessible and provide a wealth of facilities and attractions for everyone ranging from castles, museums, cinemas, restaurants, souvenir shops, water sports and much more. Berrier is ideal for walkers with the Caldbeck fells and Ullswater available to explore on foot from the door, cyclists will enjoy the more tranquil Eden Valley or the more challenging Lake District fells and with Lake Ullswater, Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater all within easy reach windsurfing, sailing and fishing can be enjoyed.
The Cruck Barn is a characterful barn conversion with exposed stone walls, cruck beams and a cosy wood burning stove. Surrounded by fields, there is walking from the door, including a walk to Naddles Crag and Greystoke Foriest where the views to Mungrisedale and the fells beyond will leave you wanting to return to take in the stunning scenery again and again. Take advantage of the Teak Summer House in one of the fields next to the cottage, the panorama views are stunning especially watching the sun going down over the distant fells. The owner is happy to arrange Gyrocopter flights at a discounted rate where you can get a birds eye view of the area, this is truly the most awe inspiring way to take in the magnificence and beauty of this stunning location.
The barn is heated by night storage heaters, is open plan and comprises:
Lounge area with exposed stone walls, cruck beams, Freeview TV with DVD player, wood burning stove and patio doors to the garden.
Kitchen/dining area with limestone floor, electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave.
Master double bedroom.
Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
First floor: Twin bedroom in the gallery.
Second twin bedroom in the gallery which is accessed by a wall ladder form the dining kitchen.
All bed linen and electric for the radiators and hot water included, all other electric paid for with coin meter.
Ample parking for 3 cars.
Patio area with garden furniture, barbeque and use of the owners land to enjoy the views, picnics and dog walking.
Discounted leisure club facilities including swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym are available nearby by prior arrangement with the owner.
