Low Brow Barn in Ambleside receives high praise for its location, comfort, and high-quality furnishings. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to local amenities and the ease of access to beautiful walks. The secure garden is a hit with dog owners, and the underfloor heating adds a cosy touch. While some minor cleanliness and maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests planning to return.
Most guests found Low Brow Barn to be clean and well-maintained, though there were a few reports of issues such as pet hairs and a dirty cooker. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, suggesting that cleanliness is generally of a good standard.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to Ambleside, Waterhead, and local attractions. The proximity to walks and amenities is a significant plus, although a few guests noted the proximity to a busy road.
Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds, sofas, and underfloor heating. The property is described as cosy and welcoming, although a few guests mentioned issues with pillows and heating adjustments.
The barn is well-equipped with high-spec finishes, and guests are generally impressed with the facilities. However, some guests reported minor issues with appliances like the dishwasher and oven, and suggestions for improvement in kitchen stock were made.
While there are mentions of a welcome treat organised by Sykes for a fee, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtfulness in the form of gifts or extra touches provided directly by the property to accurately score this category.

We had a fantastic weekend would definitely return. No logs in log basket as stated for fire we had to buy some and left some for next guest and nothing to light with so we also bought a lighter and left at the property also apart from that fantastic. Heating system was very good also and easy to use just set your temperature and press the tick âï¸ or it reverted back to normal

Despite being on a reasonably busy main road into the town, (both cars and pedestrians!!) the traffic noise did not bother us at all. Maybe a small carton of milk on arrival would be a nice touch too, although everything else was supplied in plenty (tea, coffee, handwash, washing liquid, pods for the dishwasher etc) Would definitely consider booking a return visit in the future.

Only one thing to improve: steps down to the drive are a bit slippery, and would benefit from power washing.
