Guests say

Low Brow Barn in Ambleside is praised for its excellent location, high-quality furnishings, and comfortable amenities. Guests appreciate the proximity to local attractions and the property's suitability for dogs. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests have noted concerns with cleanliness, including dust, pet hairs, and dirty kitchen appliances. However, some reviews mention the property being clean, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to Ambleside, Waterhead, and local amenities. Some guests noted the proximity to a busy road, but this did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback about the location.

The majority of guests find the beds, sofas, and underfloor heating comfortable, contributing to a cosy stay. A few guests mentioned issues with pillows and heating adjustments, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.

Facilities are generally well-received, with special mentions of the kitchen, garage, and garden. Some guests reported maintenance issues with the dishwasher and heating system, suggesting room for improvement.

While some guests were delighted with welcome treats organised through Sykes, there is not enough information to determine if such thoughtfulness is a consistent service provided with the property rental. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately given.

Despite being on a reasonably busy main road into the town, (both cars and pedestrians!!) the traffic noise did not bother us at all. Maybe a small carton of milk on arrival would be a nice touch too, although everything else was supplied in plenty (tea, coffee, handwash, washing liquid, pods for the dishwasher etc) Would definitely consider booking a return visit in the future.

Only one thing to improve: steps down to the drive are a bit slippery, and would benefit from power washing.

The house is generally cold and the manual adjustment for the underfloor heating is max 17 degrees, and each display was always above that despite it being cold. I’ve read reviews saying it’s cold and the feedback was to manually adjust but we couldn’t. Something isn’t quite right with the heating system.
