Guests say

Striding Edge is a well-regarded lodge in Windermere, praised for its excellent location, comfort, and thoughtful touches. Guests enjoyed the homely feel, modern facilities, and the natural beauty surrounding the property. The veranda and views were particularly appreciated, as were the well-equipped kitchen and cosy atmosphere. While some minor issues were noted, the overall experience was positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found the lodge clean and tidy upon arrival, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, a few reports of cleanliness issues, such as dirty kitchen items and cobwebs, suggest room for improvement in this area.

The lodge's location is highly praised for its privacy, proximity to local attractions, and the natural setting, which includes views over the lake and woodland surroundings.

Guests found the lodge cosy and comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and homely touches. Some guests noted the need for better mattresses and pillows, but overall, the comfort level was high.

The lodge is well-equipped with modern facilities, and guests appreciated the added amenities. Some minor maintenance issues were mentioned, such as the need for more bins and a blocked kitchen sink drain.

The owners' thoughtfulness was evident in their communication and gestures, such as providing updates during a power outage and leaving a bottle of wine. While such gifts are appreciated, they are a personal touch and not a guaranteed feature.

As other visitors have mentioned, it has much to recommend in addition the privacy was great, doors opening onto a beautiful sunny balcony to watch the birds on the feeders, peace and quiet in the woodland. I would mention that Skiptory Howe where the property is, is a steepish incline from amenities should you have walking disabilities.

It was cosy, had everything you need and the beds were so comfortable! We slept so well after full days of walking and swimming in the lakes. We loved sitting out on the very private deck in the sun to eat our meals and listen to the birds. Thank you!

The facilities, furniture and added extras were great. The beds were super comfy, lots of storage space and everything was clean and homely.
