Hillside is a well-loved cottage praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and cosy atmosphere. The enclosed garden and local walks are highlights, as are the friendly pubs and shops in the village square. While some guests missed Wi-Fi, others enjoyed the break from technology. The property's charm and location make it a recommended stay for families and dog owners.
Guests consistently noted the property as clean and tidy, with one specifically mentioning it was 'spotlessly clean'. The high level of cleanliness contributed positively to the overall experience.
The location in Broughton-in-Furness is highly praised for its proximity to local amenities, friendly pubs, and beautiful walks. The village's charm and the property's position in the heart of it are frequently mentioned as positives.
Many reviews highlight the comfort of the property, mentioning cosy open fireplaces and comfortable beds. However, a few guests noted issues with mattresses and light from street lamps affecting sleep in front bedrooms.
The property is well-furnished and equipped, but several reviews mention a lack of Wi-Fi and poor phone signal. The games room and heating arrangements were also points of contention for some guests.
While some guests appreciated the Christmas decorations and welcome goodies, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to assess the overall thoughtfulness of the host in terms of providing gifts or extra touches. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Stayed again and absolutely loved it. Love the slight changes they've made with the sitting room/dining room. We just love the cottage, nice and comfortable, kitchen is lovely, garden well maintained, locals are friendly. Wonderful to have a coal fire too. Butchers and grocers down the road, post office too, small garage with petrol and diesel, also sells, kindling, logs and coal. Small cafe next door, cook from fresh. Not far from the main tourist places. Just love it. No WiFi so took our own portable WiFi, worked a treat. The only slight thing I would change would be the booking in and out times, maybe 12 noon for both.

! The property is enormous and really easy to get to. The kitchen was really well equipped, stunning garden, and lots of space to relax. Definitely recommend for a large group! The beds are comfy, there was lots of recommendations for the local area, and just generally a great stay. Would also recommend Old Kings head in the village for food and the bakery for coffee and pastries. We will definitely return!!
