Snaptrip says

Guests have enjoyed the peaceful location and beautiful scenery of Robins Nest, with its proximity to walks and wildlife. The cottage is praised for its comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and cosy log burner. The garden and summerhouse are appreciated for outdoor relaxation. Some guests noted issues with water quality and the remote location, but these did not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented upon arrival, with fluffy towels and a well-equipped kitchen. However, a few mentioned finding dog hair and that floors could have been cleaner, slightly affecting the score.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its tranquility, stunning views, and proximity to walking routes. The remote aspect and narrow access road were noted, but these elements contributed to the cottage's charm and peacefulness.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the modern oil radiators and wood burner. Some guests mentioned that the upper bedrooms could be stuffy and the seating could be more comfortable.

The facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good bathroom amenities. However, there were comments about non-drinkable water, issues with underfloor heating, and a need for better garden fencing for dogs, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

While guests appreciated the facilities and the setting of the cottage, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Bath and shower rooms excellent. Kitchen clean and has everything. Living room chairs could be more comfortable and cleaned, they were quite grubby. Love the summer house and being able to see red squirrels and deer in the garden. Love that there are beautiful walks and sights to see within walking distance. Very peaceful. It would be better to have some more info about there being no drinking water, that it has to be boiled first. Not a problem except if you want a cold drink on arrival. A bottle already boiled, left in the fridge, or warning to bring some, would've been helpful. Also, I would not recommend this place for nervous drivers, the lane is very narrow, steap and winding, up to the cottage. However, I loved this place and would definitely come back.

Then there was an outside toilet and I have memories of needing a broom to push away the geese! I would remove your recommendation of the 'Talbot Bar' at the 'Skelwith Bridge Hotel', the meal was terrible, must be a different chef now. I found the cottage furnished, decorated and maintained to a very high standard, it was lovely. Andrew Bolton

The toilets were not cleaned properly and there was dog hair collected together on the floors. The house however was beautiful and was the most perfect destination for what we wanted from the holiday. Whilst we were aware of the private water supply, the discoloured water was really offputting for cleaning dishes/having showers, possibly something that bothered us more than it should have but something to note. There were lots of walks from our doorstep and the garden was perfect for relaxing in, the added bonus being the summer house at the bottom of the garden. It was great! Views were stunning, beds very comfortable, had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.
