The lodge's location is frequently described as peaceful, quiet, and convenient for exploring the Lake District. Its secluded woodland setting adds to the charm, although one guest noted it was further from the town than expected.

Guests rave about the comfortable furnishings, particularly the bed and bedding, contributing to restful nights. The cosy and homely atmosphere is a recurring theme in the reviews.

The lodge is praised for being well-equipped and providing all necessary amenities. However, a few minor suggestions for improvement, such as the addition of a cafetière and larger bath sheets, slightly affect the score.

The thoughtful gestures by the hosts, such as leaving a bottle of wine, are well-received by guests. While these gifts are appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.
