Derwentwater is a holiday rental that boasts a fantastic location with stunning views and easy access to local attractions. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfortable beds, and the provision of essentials. The property is pet-friendly, adding to its appeal for dog owners. While some guests have noted areas for improvement in maintenance and facilities, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The property generally receives high praise for cleanliness, with guests noting it as spotless and tidy. However, there are isolated comments about minor cleanliness oversights, such as items left by previous guests and outdoor areas needing attention.
The location is consistently lauded for its tranquility, stunning views, and proximity to local amenities and walking routes. It is considered one of the best spots in the southern Lakes, contributing to a peaceful and enjoyable stay.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy, particularly with the log burner. However, some guests mention the property can feel cramped for four people and the seating arrangements could be improved for better comfort.
While the property is well-equipped, there are several remarks about the need for maintenance and updates on appliances, heating, and Wi-Fi. Guests also suggest the addition of cleaning materials to maintain tidiness during their stay.
There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, a score cannot be given in this category.

I understand maybe the cleaners donât have much time to complete the cleaning. Items were left in a cupboard . Fridge are too small considering you are self catering items are wet.you need to get a tall fridge and fezzes.maybe when cottage are quiet do a spring clean

There is no drainer to use after washing the pots. Four pans in the cupboard but only two lids. The sharp knives used for preparing food were so blunt it was difficult to cut anything. The outside furniture looked like it was about to fall apart. There is a wood burning stove but no wood. No brush to keep the place clean. Overall it is very run down from the last time we stayed and we wonât be returning. Only positive is it was very clean.

Terrace furniture needs a good overhaul please. The lovely walk down to the lake is spoilt by it being so overgrown A bit of maintenance here would be good. But as for the last very many years of visiting this property, we still love it and will be returning soon
