Hillandale is a well-loved property in Ambleside, praised for its stunning views and convenient location. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and ample parking. While some maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights are noted, the property's homely feel and the responsiveness to reported problems suggest a commitment to guest satisfaction.
The property generally presents a clean environment upon arrival. However, some guests have noted areas where cleaning was superficial, with dust and old food found under furniture. The basic level of cleanliness is satisfactory, but there is room for improvement in deep cleaning and attention to detail.
The location is highly praised for its amazing views and proximity to the town centre, despite the steep hill. It offers easy access to local shops, restaurants, and hiking trails, making it an excellent base for exploring the area.
Guests find the property comfortable, particularly highlighting the comfy beds and homely atmosphere. Some minor suggestions for additional items like tumbler glasses and coat hangers are made, but overall, the comfort level is high.
The property boasts a well-stocked kitchen with new appliances, though some guests report a lack of cupboard space for groceries due to excessive kitchenware. Maintenance issues like a broken shower door and dampness have been flagged, indicating a need for better upkeep.

The kitchen was really well designed with all the equipment you needed to cook a variety of meals. The large dining room and table was fab for family meals and the views from the windows were incredible. We enjoyed walking from the property into Ambleside, to Windermere to get the boats and for longer walks in the surrounding hills. There were several problems with he heating and hot water, however, they were fixed very quickly. A fantastic stay and we would come back again.

Ideal for walks from the house despite the hill back up, hee hee. The kitchen was well equipped, and the dining room table was ample for us, a pity the kitchen blind was broken when we arrived, but it didn't affect our stay as the view from the living room was fantastic. We would come again .

The property is at the top of a steep hill that gives fantastic views. Just a couple of little things that we feel could be improved. These are 1. Completely soaps and shampoo's for both shower and basins (we know some people won't use, but it's nice to have the option). 2. Ensure that there is enough toilet rolls so that tennants don't have to buy some last minute. 3. Check the towels aren't stained (one of the hand towels we were provided was stained with makeup).
