Little Brook is a well-loved cottage praised for its cosy comfort, excellent location with easy access to Ambleside, and suitability for walkers with a useful drying room. While some guests reported cleanliness issues and suggested garden maintenance, the property generally offers a homely and peaceful stay with a stream and wildlife to enjoy.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Mixed feedback on cleanliness, with several guests finding the property clean and well-presented, while others reported dust, dog hair, and a lack of attention to detail. The property seems to have been clean for some but not consistently maintained to high standards.

The cottage is highly regarded for its location, offering tranquillity, proximity to town, and direct access to walks. The peaceful setting with the sound of a brook adds to the charm, making it a desirable base for exploring the Lake District.

Guests find the cottage cosy and warm, with comfortable beds and a homely atmosphere. The presence of a log burner and a spacious layout contribute to the overall comfort, although some guests suggested improvements such as a more powerful shower.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and useful drying room. However, some guests noted issues with garden upkeep, window locks, and the need for better showers. Maintenance appears to be needed to enhance the outdoor spaces and some interior aspects.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the owners' consideration for guests' experiences. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Clean, cosy, spacious. We also loved having the steam in the garden to rinse the dogs on the way in

The large window in the bathroom doesn’t open. There was a large puddle at the bottom of the fridge. The outside space was a disgrace; discarded furniture at the front and dead plants among a dirty and filthy backyard which had not been cared for some time. Not supplied with basic cleaning items or loo roll. Pick a different property.

Lots of space in the house and the second room at the front of the house was a nice surprise alongside the heated clothes drier. Our only complaints would be: the main bathroom window lock is broken and will not open. When we arrived the batteries were low in the fire alarms in the living room and were beeping constantly! The garden is usable but a bit messy, the furniture wasn't very clean and a bit green. It would have been nice for sanitary purposes to have some hand wash in the bathroom, we arrived late at night when all the shops were shut and so had to wait until the next day to be able to buy soap to wash our hands which isn't very hygienic. These complaints are only minor and didn't ruin our lovely stay at Little Brook, and we would love to come back again.
