Waterfalls is a well-received holiday rental in Ambleside, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoy the peaceful location with easy access to local walks and the town centre. The sound of the nearby waterfall adds a magical touch, although some noted noise from other guests above. Parking can be tight for larger vehicles.
Guests consistently mention that the property is spotlessly clean and well-maintained, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The property's location is frequently highlighted as ideal, offering a quiet setting near the river while being conveniently close to Ambleside's centre. However, some guests noted the steep walk to town.
Reviews often describe the property as comfortable and cosy, with a particularly comfortable bed. Some guests mentioned noise from upstairs, which slightly impacted the comfort level.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the quality of the furnishings. Some minor issues with parking, soundproofing, and maintenance were noted.
While guests are pleased with the overall provision and welcome packs, there is no specific mention of gifts, so it is not possible to assess thoughtfulness in this context.
This stylish first-floor apartment for two is situated half a mile from the centre of the lovely, bustling town of Ambleside which is in the Lake District National Park. Leave the car in your private parking space then climb the shared internal staircase to your entrance hallway, where you will find a handy cupboard for all your outdoor gear. Walk into your attractively decorated, cosy sitting room with dining area, where you will be repeatedly drawn to the view of the tumbling Stock Ghyll Beck below the windows. Relax in your comfortable double bedroom, with king-size bed, which has ample storage and a win-dow overlooking the river. The fully fitted bathroom has bath with shower over, a basin and WC. You will be staying in one of the best bases for exploring the Lake District by car or by public transport. Beautiful Lake Windermere is only a fifteen walk from the centre of town, so why not explore the lake on a cruise or by hiring a boat? Explore from your doorstep, some of the most dramatic walking trails the National Park has to offer. Take a short downhill stroll to the lively town centre, where you will find a fantastic choice of restaurants, individual local shops, bars and cafes, an excellent cinema, crown green bowls, tennis and mini golf. Nearby Rothay Park is also a lovely place for you to take a level walk by the river. Live unforgettable moments with your nearest and dearest on a stay at Waterfalls.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
