The village is probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found", plus any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century.

Issues with the property do not get resolved from year to year. Sash cords broken in the twin rooms, making it next to impossible to open the windows. A shower screen seal that was broken in 2023 is still not repaired, resulting in the bathroom floor getting soaked each time you shower. Some parts of the property have not been properly cleaned for a long time. Definitely not a place to stay if you don't like spiders or cobwebs. It is a shame that for a high weekly rental fee the owners do not seem to want to invest in even the most basic of running repairs.

The Wedding was at the Daffodil Hotel so the location of White Moss was just perfect. We then spent a week holidaying as a family. For the wife and I we were just able to chill and not venture out too much and for the 20 somethings the local walks were ideal. We would definitely consider returning in the future. This accommodation rates 10/10. The Wright / Whelan Household
