The 'Windows' apartment in Ambleside is praised for its bright, spacious interiors and convenient location, with many guests planning to return. While some guests mention traffic noise and minor maintenance issues, the property's natural light, views, and parking are consistently appreciated. The thoughtful touches, such as a cleaning pack, are noted, although the provision of gifts is not guaranteed.
Guests generally find the apartment clean and well-presented, though there are occasional mentions of areas needing attention, such as the entrance and balcony. Some guests noted oversight in cleaning appliances, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to both Ambleside and Waterhead, with easy access to local attractions. However, some guests note traffic noise and disturbances from passersby, which slightly impacts the score.
The apartment is described as comfortable, with en-suite bedrooms and a well-equipped living area. Some guests mention issues with sofas and noise potentially affecting sleep, but the overall sentiment is positive regarding comfort.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and multiple TVs. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as non-working jacuzzi baths, difficult-to-use hobs, and stuck TV channels, which suggest room for improvement.
While the reviews reflect appreciation for thoughtful touches like a cleaning pack, there is no consistent mention of gifts provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category accurately, and guests should not expect gifts as part of their stay.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Less well equipped than on previous visits (shortage of cutlery, limited and mismatched glasses, fewer mugs and some with cracks, no kitchen scissors). Dishwasher is defective - top shelf cannot be used. No filter papers for coffee machine. Great place to stay but these issues need sorting

Don't be put off by the exterior. Great location. Bed comfy, nice outdoor area although a little tired. Lovely backdrop of the mountains when sat down as can't see the car park or road, a little road noise but lovely little suntrap for afternoon/evening drinks. Would definitely stay there again. All you need for self catering get away.

The decor is dated and the place needed a upgrade of paint, deep clean, sorting of cupboards and dusting of the surfaces/blinds. The towels were worn. There is no recycling for guest which can mean more environmental waste. The views from the roof terrace are nice. I think with a bit of attention to this feedback the customers would have a quality stay.
