About this property

A heavenly cottage in a totally secluded setting. Full of character, this traditional Lakeland property offers 21st luxury in the beautiful Tilberthwaite Valley. Situated between Langdale and Coniston, some of the finest Lake District pubs and restaurants are on the doorstep, making Wythebank perfect for a family celebration or extra special holiday.

The cottage is located at the end of a single tracked, tarmacked country lane, totally secluded and with ample private parking. Inside are two welcoming sitting rooms, the first a cosy snug and the second a larger space with superb views. Both have wood burning stoves and plenty of room to sit and relax. There is even a piano for the musically minded. The kitchen is magnificent and equipped with everything the cooks could wish for; a bright and airy dining area is ideal for shared meal and chatting over coffee or a glass of wine. The handy utility room and shower room complete the tour of the ground floor.

Three fabulous bedrooms, with vaulted ceilings are on the first floor. A double, a king size and one super king size which can be made up as a twin on request. The generous bathroom comes with P-shaped bath with shower over.

Outside there are breath-taking views in every direction, a lovely garden and plenty of place to sit and contemplate the glorious of the surrounding. The icing on the cake is that up to two pets are welcome to come along and enjoy the seclusion and country walks.

Wythebank is an exceptional property for a very lucky group or family.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

The cottage is warm, comfortable and highly convenient to live in , the owners have taken care to think of everything. Delightful walks abound locally and you are near the Langdale Pikes and Grasmere. Sarah

On the Thursday of the first week we contacted you to confirm the re supply of towels/linen we were offered Friday or Saturday my wife confirmed Friday We waited in all day as you could not confirm AM/ PM delivery no delivery was made consequently we lost a whole day of our holiday waiting in And the result of this was we had to wash our own bedding and towels! We had expected a better service/experience as it was not a cheap holiday we had chosen You need to improve your administration the lack of service quality was highlighted because after we contacted you three times our requests were not fulfilled The property was fantastic the location was perfect however the lack of oversight by you cast a cloud over what we had hoped would be a holiday to be remembered

Unfortunately, there were a few things that detracted from relaxing on our arrival and caused some irritations. We found that chopping boards were dirty and sticky, glasses at the back of the cupboards were dirty and hair on the bedroom carpet. Although a lot of things were provided there was no spare toilet roll and we had to go and get some on the second day. A bedroom lamp shade broken as was the bath panel and there was very poor suction on the vacuum cleaner and the mop was filthy. Overall the cottage was lovely and it was such a shame that these little things detracted from a wonderful holiday.
