Two The Chapel is one of four cottages created from the former Methodist Chapel, originally built in 1866, in the village of Staveley that sits on the edge of the Lake District National Park and is a popular base for those wanting to explore the area on foot, by bike or in the car. In addition to the local pubs and village shop the village is also home to an excellent artisan bakery, an award-winning brewery and the UK’s largest cycle store. The neighboring Kentmere Valley offers fantastic opportunities for all of all grades from gentle rambles to strenuous fell top hikes.
Guests arrive at the cottage through the shared access path in the garden and steps lead to the decked patio and the glazed arched door. Stepping inside this quirky cottage there is a bright and airy open plan sitting area, dining area and kitchen. A large sofa and armchair are arranged around the log burning stove where guests can relax and enjoy the views to the patio and the garden. In the dining area is a glass topped circular dining table and to the side there is a well-appointed kitchen area.
The cottage offers a choice of two bedrooms and there are complemented by a family bathroom.
To the rear of the cottage there is a small lawned garden that over looks the rivers and an elevated decked patio with bistro garden furniture is a lovely spot to sit and relax.
The property has been furnished with quality vintage and upcycled furniture from a sustainable and design aesthetic perspective
The thriving Lakeland village of Staveley is situated on the eastern fringes of the Lake District National Park and offers superb access to the whole region. The beautiful Kentmere Valley is just a short walk away and with the River Kent tumbling its way through the valley to Staveley, it is very popular with mountain bikers and walkers alike. Staveley Mill Yard is a former wood turning mill at the heart of the village, which is now a thriving tourist attraction with cycle hire and outdoor shops, artisan bakery, brewery and the renowned Wilf's Cafe. This complements the excellent range of amenities in the village, which include a variety of shops, two village pubs, craft shops, a children's playground, a regular bus service and a railway station. Close by, the bustling towns of Kendal, Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including a ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The 'Windermere Steamboat Museum' displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life.
