Cosy Corner in the Lakes is a well-received apartment in Penrith, praised for its cleanliness, homely touches, and comprehensive amenities. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, though mattress preferences vary. The property's location offers easy access to the Northern Lakes, and the on-site facilities, including a restaurant and leisure activities, add to the enjoyable experience. The thoughtful gestures by the host and the overall ambience contribute to a restful retreat, despite some concerns about accessibility for guests with mobility issues.

Guests consistently note the apartment's exceptional cleanliness, with one guest highlighting it as perfect for those with low immune systems. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience.

While the reviews mention easy access to the Northern Lakes and a good base for exploring, there are not enough specific comments on the location to provide a comprehensive score.

The comfort of the apartment is generally praised, especially the bed and homely touches. However, there are mixed reviews about the mattress comfort, with some finding it too soft, which affects the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a restaurant, leisure pool, and other activities. However, some guests note that the leisure facilities could be better maintained and more accessible for those with disabilities.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident through welcome cards and the provision of essentials and extras. While gifts are appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches are subject to change and not guaranteed.

The accommodation was very clean, definitely cosy and delightful... and the welcome card was a really nice touch and very welcoming, being self-catering the kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to prepare meals after our long days hiking around the lake district. The accommodation was only a short distance drive to the mountains, forests, waterfalls and many walking trails. We was also able to enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna on site every night after our long days hiking which really helped... the only downside for us which we are not sure if the owner is aware off but every night at midnight the Wi-Fi would stop and was unable to watch the films we was halfway through watching which was a little disappointing being a young couple. Other then this we would highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely being booking again for future holidays.

The apartment was delightful…. very well equipped and very clean & bright. Being self catering, the kitchen was great to cook in. The only issue I had, was that the mattress on the bed was far too soft for me. For anyone with a weak back, like myself, it was not a firm supportive mattress and so I struggled to sleep well, for the 10 days we spent there. Unfortunately, this put a huge strain on my back and I feared I would ‘put my back out’, as has happened several times in the past. Obviously this would not be a problem for anyone not requiring/needing a firm, supportive mattress and so this is always a risk for me personally , when we stay away anywhere. The facilities on site are very good. There is a very nice restaurant, leisure pool and crazy golf & putting green, as well a big outdoor chess board. Although the leisure pool is very nice, with clean changing room areas & towels provided, it was hugely disappointing for me, that the main pool did not have graduating steps down, with a handrail, into the water, as did the baby pool. Having certain mobility issues with my legs (very weak muscles and arthritic knees), I was unable to get myself into the pool, using the vertical ladder steps. If I had of struggled to do so, I most certainly would not have been able to get myself out again. I had the same issue with jacuzzi pool, which I had been so looking forward to using, as there were no railed steps to enter the jacuzzi! I felt the leisure facilities were really not thought out, for less abled people, especially for people worse than myself, physically. It was the biggest disappointment of our holiday, as had intended to swim every day.
