Guests say

Guests consistently praise the cottage's idyllic location, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. The surrounding area offers abundant walking routes and stunning views, with the added charm of local wildlife. While some guests mentioned minor issues with comfort and initial warmth, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score for this category.

The location is highly praised for its peace, quiet, and proximity to walks and nature, with guests enjoying the local wildlife and walks straight from the door. The remote setting adds to the charm, although it is noted to be a bit off the beaten track.

The comfort of the beds received mixed reviews, with one guest finding the master bedroom mattress uncomfortable, while others found the beds really comfortable. The cottage is described as cosy and warm after the initial heating period.

The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciated the provided maps and walk suggestions. There were minor issues with a dishwasher and the need for fire making materials on the first night, but overall the facilities met guests' needs.

No reviews mention gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness. However, the provision of maps and suggested walks indicates a level of consideration for guests' experiences.

Our toddler loved watching the sheep from all the windows! The kitchen was really well stocked with cooking apparatus and the lounge and beds were comfortable. We had a really lovely (but short!) stay!

The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a fortnight's stay. We were also very lucky with the weather so got to sit out on the patio and admire the amazing view of Bowscale Fell. There are plenty of walks from the door, or from Mungrisdale, which is a short drive away. Highly recommended. Many thanks to the owners for a wonderful stay.
