Guests say

Newby Bridge House is highly praised for its stunning location, beautifully maintained interiors, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the tasteful decor, comfortable furnishings, and the delightful garden leading to the river, ideal for both relaxation and activities. The property's cleanliness and thoughtful touches, such as a welcome pack, contribute to memorable stays. While some minor suggestions for improvement are noted, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests planning to return.

The property is consistently described as immaculate and spotlessly clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes to the comfort and enjoyment of guests.

The property's location is celebrated for its beauty and convenience, with easy access to local attractions and scenic walks. The proximity to the river and the availability of nearby amenities are particularly appreciated, although some guests mention the busy road as a consideration.

Guests frequently mention the comfortable furniture and beds, as well as the cozy atmosphere provided by the log burner and the overall layout of the house, which caters to both relaxation and family activities.

The house is well-equipped with modern conveniences, a well-stocked kitchen, and entertainment options like PlayStations and games. The garden and river access are highlights, though there is a suggestion for a more effective vacuum cleaner and a note about the lack of a downstairs toilet in the house.

The provision of a welcome pack, dishwasher pods, and other amenities is mentioned positively, reflecting the owners' thoughtfulness. However, it is politely noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life. Bowness-on-Windermere provides a lovely day out, plus the picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and admire the views at nearby Gummer's How.

All your homes comforts. Lovely to have a welcome pack and logs available on arrival. Kitchen stacked with utensils, plenty for 8 guests including a slow cooker! Very comfortable furniture in the lounge and snug, great after a day walking. Great walks from the cottage aswell. Would definitely return and recommend a visit.

Was a little surprised about the maintenance team leaving the gate open when we were staying with a dog, thankfully nothing untoward happened. Perhaps a message to say we should expect them would help. Will deffo look to book again in the future! Thank you

Decor between old and new perfectly done to provide the ultimate comfort for guests. Everything my family needed for our break and more was in this house. I would definitely recommend. I would even go as far as to say this breath taking house made our stay in the lakes extra special.
