Situated near the shore of Lake Windermere, White Cross Bay offers breathtaking views of the surrounding fells. From here, you may swim, paddleboard, rent boats, go on a lake tour, or simply unwind in the fresh air as you picnic beside the lake. There are several activities at Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, which features a house, gardens, café, restaurant, boats, adventure playground, and Tree Top Trek.

Additionally, Windermere village, which has shops, cafés, and bars, is only a short distance away, and Bowness boat landings is also close by and offering boat tours, leaving guests simply spoilt for choice.

Bowness is a delightful village offering independent shops to browse at your leisure, eateries, and award-winning pubs for when you don't feel like cooking. Here you will also find the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Other places to visit include the quaint town of Ambleside, Ullswater, and many fantastic walks, including the impressive Scafell Pike and the Old Man of Coniston.

Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
