Snaptrip says

Beech Hill Lodge receives praise for its prime location, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the proximity to Bowness and the park's amenities. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the lodge's cleanliness and the thoughtful touches like provided toiletries and cleaning supplies contribute to a pleasant stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the lodge to be clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and quality linen. However, a few guests mentioned areas that needed attention, such as dirty skirting boards and a dusty hoover, which slightly impacted the overall perception of cleanliness.

The lodge's location is highly praised for its convenience, being a short walk from Bowness and close to Lake Windermere. The quiet park setting and partial lake views are appreciated, enhancing the overall experience.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the lodge, particularly the beds and the living space. Some guests noted uncomfortable sofas and dining chairs, but these comments were relatively few compared to the positive feedback.

The lodge is well-equipped, with guests enjoying the BBQ and decking area. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working lights and a problematic boiler, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like sanitiser, dishwasher tablets, and toiletries. While some guests suggested improvements like providing ice or a visible welcome pack, it's clear that these extras are not guaranteed and vary by stay.

With a charter granted in 1262, the traditional Cumbrian market town of Wigton still holds a market each Tuesday in the covered market hall. This lovely town is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, as well as for other activities such as theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. The Lord Melvyn Bragg novel, 'A Time to Dance', featured the town of Thurston, which was based on Wigton and the local area. A lovely base for a holiday exploring Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.

Returning from days out we were greeted with this smell. Looking around the lodge we found the main bathroom toilet wasn't fixed; so moved when sat on. The 'jacuzzi' bath although still advertised has been replaced with a standard style tub. The basin drawer didn't close properly, along with 3 of the kitchen doors also. The floor in the kitchen has water damage and sinks when walked on, same in the bathroom. My wife freaked out when she found previous occupants hair in the bedroom drawers, and on the window sill. This combined with the smell made us feel dirty throughout our stay, so much so we left a few days early. The lodge can be described as 'tired'. We feel the advert photo's need updating to reflect its current appearance, inside and out as much has changed. The wifi is weak, drops out often and can't be used with the smart tv. The park itself is very nice, with great views, and access to the lake, with a nice bar grill onsite. A great base for exploring the area.

Very comfortable and clean lodge with big decking area which sadly we didn't get to use due to the rain. Despite our conversation, a plumber didn't attend to fix the non flushing toilet, we kept putting the clips back on inside to enable it to flush but looking at previous reviews this is an ongoing issue. More cutlery and crockery are needed as 6 plates/forks etc isn't enough if some are in the dishwasher. Poor Wifi.
