Bluebell Hill is a well-presented and immaculate apartment praised for its prime location in the heart of Bowness-On-Windermere. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, comfortable beds, and cleanliness. While some minor issues with facilities are noted, the convenience to local amenities and attractions makes it a recommended stay.
The majority of guests found the apartment to be spotless and tidy, with high-quality linen and a welcoming feel. However, a few guests mentioned areas that could have been cleaner, such as under the sofa and kitchen tiles, which slightly lowers the score.
The apartment's location is consistently praised for being in the heart of Bowness, with easy access to restaurants, bars, and Lake Windermere. The convenience and desirability of the location contribute to a high score.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the apartment cosy, although some mention that the space can feel snug for four adults and the shower pressure is low. The overall comfort experience is positive but with room for improvement.
While the apartment is generally well-equipped, several guests reported issues with the fridge, shower, and hot water. The lack of a proper fridge and maintenance concerns with the shower unit affect the score.

Set at the heart of the Cumbrian town of Bowness-on-Windermere lies this delightful, first-floor apartment, Bluebell Hill. With nifty, on-site facilities and superb positioning to nearby attractions and amenities, this property is ideal for families or sharing friends who are looking for a relaxing, self-catered getaway in the Lake District National Park. As you step into your new lodgings, you’ll be greeted by a tastefully-presented, open-plan living space, consisting of a fully-equipped kitchen area where the designated chef can whip up delicious, home-cooked meals for the whole group to be savoured at the dining table, sat on the sofa whilst you enjoy a film on the Smart TV, or even alfresco on the furnished balcony in the warmer months. As day turns into night, indulge in a rejuvenating shower before retiring to one of two bedrooms, including a plush double where you can rest and recuperate ahead of a brand new day. If you can tear yourself away from your new dwelling, step out your front door and take a walk around Bowness-on-Windermere, where the attractions of The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and Fallbarrow Hall can be found, whilst the Windermere Jetty Museum offers daily steam-launch boat tours of the magnificent Lake Windermere. A short drive north along the lake will bring you to Ambleside, with the stunning Stagshaw Gardens, Borrans Park, Ambleside Roman Fort, and the Stock Ghyll Force waterfall providing a day’s worth of fun activities. Slightly further afield, a journey east will bring you to Kendal, a market town home to the eponymous Kendal Castle, Kendal Museum and Miller Bridge. Whatever you choose to do, you’ll never run out of things to see or enjoy during a stay at Bluebell Hill.
Visitors to the Lake District National Park are drawn to the lively twin towns of Bowness and Windermere because each one offers a variety of adjacent attractions, facilities, a movie theatre, shopping, and restaurants to satisfy all interests. Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness offers a choice of boat cruises and boat rental options to Brockhole, Ambleside, and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The Old Laundry Theatre and the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction are separated by 1.5 kilometres. It takes 30 minutes to walk to Orrest Head to take in the breathtaking vista of far-reaching views over the lake and nearby fells, which served as the inspiration for Alfred Wainwright to create his series of renowned guidebooks. The historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside, and Troutbeck are only a short drive away, while Brockhole, which provides high wire tree top activities, is three miles distant. For those with greater energy, marine centres near the lake offer a range of watersports. With easy access to attractions like the stunning Langdales, Beatrix Potter's Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and "Go-Ape" adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, and Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts, and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, the area is perfectly situated for exploring everything this region has to offer.
