All the facilities of Bowness-on-Windermere are a short drive or a long walk from Cherry cottage and the not to be missed attractions include the hand-made chocolate shop and the wonderful walks along the Bowness promenade where the many cruise ships run down the Lake to Ambleside. There are picturesque walks straight from the cottage door including the Dales Way which runs by the golf club, footpaths to Crook and Staveley and for the more adventurous walks across to Cartmel Fell. Further afield Brant Fell which provides stunning views over Lake Windermere and its surrounding fells, including the Langdales and Crinkle Crags are some of the most outstanding challenges in this wonderful area.
