Guests say

Fieldside Lodge is generally praised for its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. The location in Windermere is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with guests appreciating the peaceful setting. Some minor maintenance issues and inconsistent Wi-Fi are noted, but overall, guests report a pleasant stay with modern decor and a homely feel.

Most guests found the lodge to be very clean and tidy, with only a few isolated incidents of minor cleanliness issues such as a red wine stain and some grit on the floor. The overall high standard of cleanliness contributes to the positive experiences reported.

The lodge's location in Windermere is frequently commended for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. It is central to various places, on a bus route, and offers wonderful views, making it an ideal spot for exploring the Lake District.

Guests describe the lodge as cosy, comfortable, and a home from home, with a particularly comfortable double bed and a large sofa. However, some guests noted that the single bed mattresses could be improved, slightly affecting the comfort score.

The lodge is well-equipped, with a modern kitchen and bathroom, though some guests mentioned the need for a lick of paint and TLC on the decking areas. The lack of reliable Wi-Fi and difficulty using the smart TV due to this were recurring concerns.

While guests have expressed satisfaction with the lodge's amenities and some have suggested that a welcome pack would be a nice touch, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special thoughtful gestures that would warrant a score in this category.

It is a smart clean well-furnished lodge, beautiful kitchen and bathroom areas and a big L shaped sofa which was very comfortable. The double bedroom was also very comfortable but as is often the case in self catering accommodation, the single beds mattresses had definitely seen better days. I usually go on holiday with my sister so one of us has to use a single bed and they are invariably lumpen and saggy and this was no exception. We had a really relaxing stay - despite the size of the White Cross Bay site and the proximity to other lodges the lodge still felt very private. The site was quiet while we were there - perhaps in the height of the season it might be noisy. I didn 't really like the White Cross Bay site, the people staying on the site didn't seem to be mountain walkers or outdoorsy people, and there were quite a few random people wandering about who didn't look like holiday makers or maintenance. But the lodge was lovely. My only real gripe was the lack of any usable wifi - it was impossible to use the 'smart' tv as a smart tv, so no access to any streaming channels and there was no DVD player. Also, the decking areas need a bit of TLC. I would stay in this lodge again if it were on Burnside Park or Limefitt Park which both belong to the same company, I wouldn't personally stay on the White Cross Bay site again, but I would recommend the lodge.
