Snaptrip says

Jasmine Cottage in Windermere is praised for its great location, cosy atmosphere, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, clean environment, and thoughtful touches like rechargeable torches. The log burner adds charm, although some guests suggest a starter pack for the fire would be helpful. While the Wi-Fi speed and some maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found Jasmine Cottage to be clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and a well-maintained appearance. However, there were isolated reports of insufficient cleaning, such as drawers with leftover items and a smoky smell, which slightly impacted the overall impression.

The cottage is consistently lauded for its excellent location, offering easy access to local attractions and being a superb base for exploring the Lake District. The proximity to a convenience store and the peaceful setting despite being near a main road are also appreciated.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, highlighting the quality of the beds and the cosy atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned issues with the sofa and bed comfort, as well as disturbances from the pre-set heating schedule.

Facilities are well-regarded, particularly the kitchen equipment and shower quality. Nonetheless, there are comments about the need for maintenance, such as the driveway condition, heating efficiency, and some appliance malfunctions, which suggest room for improvement.

While many reviews mention thoughtful details that enhanced their stay, there is no specific mention of gifts provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category based on the available information.

A trip to the Lake District wouldn’t be complete without a cruise on board the historic steamers which stop off at several towns and villages around the lake. Catch one of these boats to Lakeside to visit the Lakes Aquarium and marvel at the fascinating underwater creatures, or head to Bowness-on-Windermere to see The World of Beatrix Potter Experience, a great choice for those with little ones, and discover the historic Ambleside Roman Fort in Ambleside for history lovers. Why not plan a day out to Keswick, home to some fascinating attractions such as the Derwent Pencil Museum and Puzzling Place – an optical illusions & artwork exhibition. At the end of a busy fun-filled day, look forward to returning to the comfort of Jasmine Cottage in the Lake District.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Has everything needed for a few days away. We really enjoyed our stay.

We are an elderly couple and this was a definite minus. Plus the size of the double bed was also not covered on the website

  • Ane

It was well located, just one min walk from the shop and petrol station. The house was big enough for the three of us, and allowed us to be comfortable in space. It has a beautiful garden area at the front, where we were able to enjoy the sun after our walks. It was clean, and also was perfectly equipped. We truly enjoyed it!
