Once you have come through the electric gates and down the drive, head in through the front door and into the large kitchen and dining space, holding magnificent views across Lake Windermere, a bespoke handmade kitchen with quartz and granite worktops, equipped with the highest standard of appliances that you could need. The chefs of the group will love getting creative in this space and you can keep them company and supervise with a glass of wine sat at the breakfast bar. Move things over to the dining table, all the while watching the sun go down in the background through the floor to ceiling glazed windows, bringing the outside in. After a day of walking has tired you out, you can look forward to watching a film on the cinema style TV with Sonos sound system in the stylish sitting room, featuring designer sofas in sky blue and beautiful dark wood flooring. When you want a quiet moment, somewhere to take up a good book or just read the papers in the afternoon, there is the snug which has a leather sofa and a Smart TV. When you are ready to head to bed, you will have four stunning bedrooms to choose from, all super-king rooms with en-suites; three with views of the lake and one with a view to the garden. Of these, the master bedroom on the south west corner of the property is really something special, with bi-fold doors that open onto a private balcony wrapping around the corner of the building where you can enjoy an early morning cuppa and watch the world go by. Bi-fold floor to ceiling patio doors in the kitchen and dining space open onto the patio area where you can enjoy some alfresco dining or indulge in a soak in the hot tub with a cold drink in hand. Flanked by ancient woodland where the owners have created a haven for wildlife and kept landscaping to a minimum, the garden sweeps down to the lakeshore benefiting from its own private jetty mooring (boats can only be launched from Bowness-on-Windermere, not from the house), and a small beach overlooked by the large covered outdoor dining area. Bowness-on-Windermere is a pretty Lakeland village with a wealth to explore, you can hire a row boat or take a cruise on one of the steamers to see the shores from the water, while the Windermere Lake Cruises that depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside provide a spectacular way to explore with no need of a car. The opportunities for walking are endless in this part of the world so whether it's a leisurely amble or a hardcore hike, there is something to suit all abilities. Bowness-on-Windermere is a town on the shoreline of England's largest lake, Lake Windermere in Cumbria. Hosting a multitude of pubs, shops and a variety of cuisine, you will be able to get all the essentials for a self-catered stay or choose to have a night off and dine out. The activities in the area are mainly based around the lake, with the option hire a row or motor boat, take a lakes cruise, or use the ferry to get to Lakeside or Ambleside, you will be sure to enjoy the picturesque waters. Of course, walkers will delight in the surrounding landscapes and peaks and will find endless opportunities to get out on the hills and enjoy this amazing area of the world.

**Please note as the hot tub is emptied, cleaned, re filled and re heated between each booking it may not be at the optimum temperature until at least 7pm on your day of arrival and on your day of departure the hot tub will be drained at 9.30am**

It is a beautifully built modern house with the most spectacular views of Lake Windermere. However it is not without faults - there were a number of things broken, not working or not up to the standard you would expect from a house of this quality and resulting price bracket. To name a few - the barbecue ignition wasnât working, the tv in the second bedroom had no signal, the toilet seats are quite old and discoloured and need replacing, there was regular interference to the main tv signal. Also, the WiFi in the home is quite dated and is one of those systems that constantly kicks you out and you have to reconnect to. The equipment in the kitchen is fairly hi-tech but the instructions left by the owner are not helpful or comprehensive enough. They assume you know that you have to lift the glass off of the Tepan Yaki grill in order to use it - I stumbled across this by accident. Also the microwave was within one of the ovens and completely frustrating to use because of the complex menu system. The hob is too small for a home meant to cater for 8 persons. You can barely fit 2 pans on it. I was aware on booking that building work was taking place next door but was not aware how very intrusive it would be. The building project is vast and has been ongoing for 3 years. It involves the entire site to the right side of the building and the builders have a lovely view into all of the big glass windows on that side of the property. I feel the owners are not being open enough with customers about the privacy issues that this creates. The bedroom blinds are automated and if you want to enjoy the stunning views from the master bedroom, you have to have BOTH blinds open, which gives the builders a very clear view of the master bedroom and bed! This could be rectified by the owner but they have chosen not to do so. Also, our last day (Friday) we had 3 landscape gardeners at the property for the entire day when we wanted to enjoy the outside space and hot tub but felt awkward doing so. Finally, a couple of days after leaving the property we were emailed and asked about a missing soap dish as if we had taken it. We hadnât and had treated the house with care and respect and to receive this email was a surprise and a disappointment In summary, we had a wonderful stay but the house needs some basic maintenance and the owners need to think more about their guestâs experience rather than their bottom line.

It has been built and furnished to a very high standard. The views from the house are spectacular - the setting and comfort set the scene for the best morning coffee and evening drinks you can imagine. The housekeeper Katrina is so helpful and gave us a great orientation on the property when we arrived. Two comments on the feedback from other visitors 1. We found the noise from the building site a non issue. 2. We had a fairly cool period of weather at the house. I could imagine the house would be very hot on a warm summer's night. Ventilation could be better. Overall a fabulous vacation and fabulous property

We found the main bedroom windows at the top would benefit from having blinds because the light comes in far to early.
