Snaptrip says

Millrace Cottage is generally praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and superb location in the Lake District, with many guests enjoying the tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. While some guests found the cottage compact and suggested minor improvements, the overall sentiment is positive, with particular appreciation for the friendly site staff and the picturesque setting.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-presented. There were a few isolated comments about specific cleaning issues, but these do not seem to represent the general guest experience.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and convenience, with easy access to Windermere, local pubs, and attractions. The scenic views and quiet park setting contribute to a positive experience.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and underfloor heating. However, some guests noted that the space might be cramped for larger parties and that the lounge seating could be insufficient.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and large patio area. However, there are comments about the lack of basic supplies, issues with the washing machine and heating system, and suggestions for better instructions on using the appliances.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The cottage was everything we needed! Thank you also for responding so quickly when the oven wasn’t working and sorting it. We had a great time!

It was very clean when we arrived and I hope we left it clean when we left. A few things...the cottage seemed to be set up for winter with thick quilts on the beds so we all roasted and secondly the underfloor heating was on pretty much constantly which I had to virtually turn off. No oven gloves which I found strange as well as we cooked a few times to save money. We unfortunately had a problem with the people next door on a couple of nights which resulted in me banging on the wall at midnight and telling them to shut up. Overall would we stay there again?? Absolutely 100% if a few things were sorted before.
