Old Village House in Windermere receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, spacious rooms with en-suites, and the convenience of local amenities. The characterful cottage with thoughtful touches ensures a delightful stay, despite some minor feedback on heating control and road noise.
Reviewers consistently mention the exceptional cleanliness of the property, describing it as one of the cleanest they've stayed in, with no negative comments on this aspect.
The central location is highly praised for its proximity to shops, restaurants, and attractions, although a few guests noted some road noise and the presence of a nearby takeaway.
Guests find the property comfortable and well-furnished, with ample space and cosy rooms. Some guests experienced issues with heating and the spiral staircase, which affected the comfort score slightly.
The property is well-equipped and beautifully renovated, with generous en-suite bathrooms. However, there are remarks about heating issues and the need for blackout blinds, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.
While the reviews reflect a high standard of accommodation and mention various amenities provided, there is no specific reference to gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

Beautifully decorated property and lots of room for 6 adults, the en suites were generous in size, very deceptive and spacious. Didnât attempt to carry a suitcase up the spiral staircase, left that to the youngsters. The house was very well equipped although it did take a while to find the hidden cutlery draw, if only Iâd read the cottage information sheet first âºï¸We had a great time and were able to find places to eat and drink with our dog within a few minutes walk. Our dog wasnât really keen on toileting in the courtyard but we found a grassy area not far from the house. We loved our time here and would definitely book again. Two of the most senior adults fell up the kitchen steps and down but no harm done. We were warned

It was very well equipped with everything we needed and was very clean on arrival. Parking for two cars was really helpful as we had our children and their partners staying with us for most of our time there. The location is ideal for Windermere centre with plenty of places to eat and local shops to explore. A 25 minute walk down to Bowness is a nice way to start the day or you can just jump on the bus service which is reliable, clean and fairly priced. We will return.

Old Villiage House was exceptionally clean and well presented. Repeat with good facilities and thoughtful touches, we had a great time there.
