Guests say

Wansfell View is a well-received lodge in Windermere, praised for its comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the luxury of a hot tub. Its location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with easy access to local attractions and walks. Guests appreciate the property's spaciousness and the thoughtful touches by the owners, although some noted room for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. While some guests found the lodge spotless, others reported issues with cleanliness, including dog hairs and unclean bathrooms. The negative comments suggest room for improvement, although they are not representative of all guests' experiences.

The lodge's location is highly praised for its proximity to Bowness, Ambleside, and local pubs. Guests love the easy access to walks and the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, making it an ideal spot for a holiday retreat.

Guests consistently mention the comfortable beds and the overall spaciousness of the lodge. The addition of an air fryer and the provision of a cot and high chair for children are noted as comfortable and convenient features.

The lodge is well-equipped with facilities like WiFi, a hot tub, and a fully enclosed dog walking field. However, some guests reported maintenance issues such as non-working vacuum cleaners and electrical problems, which slightly detract from the overall high standard.

While some guests were delighted with the Christmas decorations and the provision of games for children, there is no consistent mention of welcome gifts or other thoughtful gestures that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

    Beautiful place and accommodation.

It is a lovely property- lots of space, hot tub, equipment etc but unfortunately the place was dirty. I did just say to them that I had to run over the place as there were crumbs etc everywhere but the bathrooms were dirty and I’m not sure they had been cleaned at all. The second bedroom had a false broken finger nail on the side and one of the single beds was covered in hair. The bathrooms were covered in dust, hair etc. when I went to hoover, it was so full that it was clear it wasn’t able to pick anything up so I had to empty it. I couldn’t get some of it out as it was so jammed. I don’t feel like I should have had to do this on my holiday. I also had to wash pots and pans before use. However, it is a gorgeous place and I didn’t let it spoil my holiday. Think the owners need to know that it is not being cleaned to a good standard and they are paying for this service. I would whole heartedly recommend this property and stay again if I knew it was cleaned properly.

It was spotless inside and out on the decking. Hot tub was lovely. The lodge itself was probably the best we have stayed in. Sofas, beds etc were so comfortably. Will definitely be booking it again. Thankyou.
