Tawny's Roost is a contemporary, single-storey cottage nestled on the outskirts of the village of Snettisham, Norfolk. Just a mile from the beach with an open-plan living area and off-road parking, this picturesque dwelling is ideal for families looking to escape to Norfolk. Open the front door to your new home-from-home and be welcomed into the open-plan living space. Get comfortable on the sofa and catch up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV with DVD player, whilst the budding chef becomes acquainted with the well-equipped kitchen, boasting all the essentials required to create delicious meals, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer for your laundry needs. Gather around the dining table for mealtimes or take the evening outside and toast to a much-needed break. When it's time to rest, two bedrooms await, including a double and a twin, both neutrally-decorated and tastefully-presented. Explore the area and discover the village of Snettisham, where you can find a range of shops, pubs and eateries, as well as the wonderful RSPB Snettisham bird reserve with extensive pebble beach that is ideal for relaxing and soaking up the sun. Head to the nearby Heacham, where you'll find a wealth of outdoor activities on offer, from kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and fishing, to a leisurely boat trip around the local area. For a special day trip, make your way to the Royal Sandringham Estate and admire the beautiful country house and grounds, set over an impressive 8,000 acres, where you can explore the museum, gardens and more, before indulging in a traditional afternoon tea or a light lunch at the restaurant. Alternatively, history buffs may wish to visit the town of King's Lynn, where they can unveil the past at the fascinating Lynn Museum or marvel at its 18th century Minster. Make your holiday in Norfolk a memorable one, with a stay at 7 Beach Road.
Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an rspb bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
