Boasting a brilliant contemporary design, this spectacular hideaway belongs in California or the South of France, but lucky holidaymakers need not travel that far - it's right here in the middle of Wells-next-the-Sea, one of the county's most scenic coastal towns. The Roundhouse is a simply stunning, unique coastal hideaway positioned in a prime, yet tranquil location.
Offering luxury accommodation, and fully-equipped for both inside and outside living, this iconic building has been designed to create a light, bright, open air feeling, bringing the outside in and maximising the views of the Quay, sea and salt marshes beyond. Set over three floors, this fabulous property enjoys well thought out living areas, with comfortable furniture and furnishings ensuring it is welcoming and relaxing, as well as practical from top to bottom. Entering the house on the first floor, you walk straight into a modern open-plan kitchen, with inset dining area, featuring colourful local coastal art and large french doors that open out onto the generous decked area, unifying indoor and outside living and dining. The kitchen links seamlessly through to the sitting room at the front of the house, where large windows and a curved balcony offer sublime panoramic views of the coast. In the summer, open the doors and enjoy some fresh sea air; in winter, light the wood burning stove and snuggle up with a book or your favourite series on the large widescreen television. On the second floor are three of the bedrooms; a king-size with en-suite set in the rounded turret, a super-king with en-suite and Juliet balcony; and a third bedroom with two full-size bunk beds - perfect for children and young at heart adults; and a family bathroom to share. A very spacious fourth bedroom (king-size) sits alone on the lower ground floor, has a relaxed seating area, is flooded with light from large sliding glass doors, and enjoys sole use of a wet room in the adjacent hallway. There's a handy utility, with laundry facilities on this level too.
Outside the house has a lovely Mediterranean-style sunken courtyard garden. Enclosed, and south facing, it is a peaceful and private haven where guests can chill out, perhaps soak up the sun or gather together for drinks while the barbecue cooks some delicious locally caught fresh fish - the perfect end to a joyful day spent on beautiful, panoramic Wells beach.

Ideal situation for a holiday stay - accommodation excellent for a family of 4 adults and 4 children. We certainly had a lovely week of weather, all over meals outside and a lovely barbecue. Thanks.

Great holiday. Lovely house to stay in with plenty of room. Loved the wine bar at The Chandlery and The Globe is always a favourite of ours. I'm sure we will be back for another Norfolk adventure.

Beautiful house, brilliantly located. Have had the most fantastic week exploring the delights (particularly culinary) of North Norfolk. Love North Norfolk Cellars (the Chandlery) round the corner, Caroline at The Red Lion, Stiffkey is a lovely warm hostess (am amazed this walk is done with toddlers in tow!) The Old Bank bistro in Snettisham is excellent for a celebration dinner (tasting menu). Have enjoyed all the wildlife; the birds, jellyfish on the beach, toad on our walk to Stiffkey. A juvenile black bird flew into the kitchen and got quite stressed trying to find its way out. Wondering if there is a way to mark the glass for birds without spoiling the view? Thanks.
