A great destination for couples, friends or small families, this fabulous cottage has heaps of character and has been cleverly designed to be a tranquil getaway. Surrounded by glorious countryside, it’s within easy reach of so much to do, whether you prefer walking and wildlife-spotting, historic attractions or discovering high-quality places to eat and drink.
With its steeply pitched roof and back-painted timber cladding, this excellent getaway makes a striking first impression. Inside, it’s cleverly designed for comfort and style. The lounge/diner boasts a tiled floor and exposed brick wall, with a sofa, Smart TV and dining table for four. Head through to the compact kitchen and you’ll find everything necessary for preparing holiday snacks and meals, including a slimline dishwasher and that all-important coffee machine. The simple single bedroom on this floor can be adapted for two by pulling out the trundle bed. It has the use of a stylish shower room. Reached via cottage-stye stairs, and with areas of low, sloping ceiling, the king-size bedroom encompasses the entire first floor, including a seating area with lovely rural views, a Juliet balcony and a delightful en-suite shower room. Outside, a shingled garden space is furnished for outdoor suppers or drinks in the fresh air and sunshine.
The barn is located in the village of Thurton, where you’ll find a traditional pub serving a choice of food and drink, while just 2 miles away is the family-run Chet Valley Vineyard. The beautiful Raveningham Gardens is only 6 miles away. For walks and activities head to Whitlingham Country Park, 8.5 miles, or Carlton Marshes, 16 miles. In the lovely city of Norwich, 8.5 miles away, you can tour the castle and cathedral, indulge in some retail therapy or discover great places to eat.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming cottage. It was immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The thoughtful touches, such as the welcome gifts from the host, made our stay even more memorable. The peaceful rural setting was perfect for a relaxing getaway with our family. We truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable, and well-cared-for place to stay. Thank you for making our holiday so special!

We had a lovely stay at The Cart Shed. Quiet, relaxing and peaceful location Very well equipped with everything you'd need. Spotlessly clean, great quality bedding and towels. Quality fixtures and fittings Fabulous shower with lots of pressure wish we could of taken it home. Host was excellent, a friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Delicious welcome basket of goodies, milk and juice in the fridge. Flowers on the table, we couldn't have felt anymore welcome. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing bolthole or a base to go out and about to explore Norfolk this is the place for you. I cannot recommend it highly enough
