This spacious ground-floor property is the ideal retreat for a family or group of six wanting to enjoy a Norfolk coastal retreat. This property is a wonderful mix of traditional and contemporary, with character features a-frame ceilings adorned with wooden beams, an exposed brick fireplace with woodburning stove and quirky alcoves, mixed with modern conveniences and a simple but stylish décor. Head into the spacious living/dining room and relax on one of the three plush sofas, carefully placed around the fireplace, and fire up the woodburning stove as you unwind with a good book or a family film night on the wall-mounted TV. The property was clean and tidy. We noticed a few cobwebs in the higher ceiling space, but it's a barn, so that's expected! There was a good selection of DVDs to use, however, the batteries in the DVD player controller needed changing. And the tin opener didn't work at all. We explored many lovely walks in the area, but the immediate access to the public footpath off the busy main road was a bit hairy, especially with 2 dogs (a 2-minute walk to the footpath.) We also tried the main field mentioned in the welcome book pack, but the gate was stiff/blocked from opening easily. But overall the barn was lovely and warm!

We arrived late and didn't have time to do a shop so this was a little bit disappointing. The kitchen equipment all felt like it needed a good wash before using and one of the cupboards had cobwebs in! There were a couple of baking trays that should have been thrown out years ago from the looks of things. The outside light at the back didn't work. The sofas were quite uncomfortable. I wouldn't advise anyone with a low suspension to book the property as the entry into the property would probably take your suspension out! The plus points were that it is in a great position, so close to the beach and Poachers Pocket at Bacton was great for food and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. In short, with a little bit of attention this property could be amazing but just seems a little tired and unloved.

Lovely area and great hosts. We were sad to have to move on to another property for our second week in Norfolk. Our 3 dogs were so welcomed and to have a private field to run them was such a great find. Would love to return at some stage.
