Guests say

The Old Rectory is a spacious and beautiful property set in a peaceful location, ideal for family gatherings. Guests have praised its comfortable accommodation, stunning grounds, and the personal touches that make it feel like a home away from home. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience was highly enjoyable, with special mentions of the property's suitability for large groups and its cosy, well-equipped nature.

The property generally appears well-kept, with no specific complaints about cleanliness. However, the mention of a mouldy barbeque grill suggests room for improvement in outdoor maintenance.

The location is highly praised for its seclusion, easy access to local attractions, and the peaceful environment it offers. The proximity to the village and church adds to its charm.

Guests found the property comfortable, with ample space and cosy rooms suitable for relaxation. Comfortable beds and a family-friendly atmosphere contributed to a restful stay.

While the property is well-equipped and large, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a faulty light switch, inadequate kitchenware, and a non-functioning extractor fan. These are minor but detract from the overall quality.

The welcome pack of local produce was appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, this should not be expected with every stay.

The house is lovely and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. There were 8 of us and we all had a great time. As in previous reviews it would be helpful if there was a mat by the door into the garden from the kitchen and a decent mop. The electric tripped when we pressed a light switch in the kitchen by the utility room and it was a bit of a mission using step ladders to get to the electric box, which was very high up. However, the problems we had were very small and didn't impact on our holiday. We tried the local pub for dinner one evening which was very good. We had such a lovely time at the Old Rectory we didn't want to leave.
