The Old Rectory is a spacious and beautiful property with a family-friendly atmosphere, set in a peaceful location ideal for rural walks and day trips. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped house, comfortable beds, and the large outdoor space, making it perfect for family gatherings. The property's charm and the welcome pack of local produce were appreciated.
The property generally appears well-kept, though there were minor cleanliness issues such as a mouldy barbeque grill and a lack of door mat leading to difficulty in maintaining a clean kitchen floor.
The secluded and peaceful location is highly praised, with easy access to the broads, coast, and local amenities like a village shop and pub. The property's setting provides a private estate feel, enhancing the guest experience.
Guests found the property comfortable, with ample space and cozy living areas. Comfortable beds and a warm atmosphere contributed to a relaxing stay, although the lack of oven gloves was a minor inconvenience.
The property is well-equipped and suitable for large groups, but there were several maintenance issues reported, such as a faulty light switch, a non-working extractor fan, and an oven not heating correctly. Additionally, the mismatched crockery and scratched glasses suggest a need for restocking.
While guests appreciated the welcome pack of local produce, there is no consistent mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches across the reviews to accurately score this category.

Lovely cottage, perfect for our group of seven

The house is lovely and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. There were 8 of us and we all had a great time. As in previous reviews it would be helpful if there was a mat by the door into the garden from the kitchen and a decent mop. The electric tripped when we pressed a light switch in the kitchen by the utility room and it was a bit of a mission using step ladders to get to the electric box, which was very high up. However, the problems we had were very small and didn't impact on our holiday. We tried the local pub for dinner one evening which was very good. We had such a lovely time at the Old Rectory we didn't want to leave.

The Old Rectory was the perfect location for a family get-together (nine of us, aged from 7 to 75). Plenty of outdoor space for the kids to safely explore and play in; the rickety treehouse was a big hit, as were the deer and rabbits! The piano in the dining room was a nice touch too. The house itself was very spacious and beautifully decorated, accurately represented by the photos, and well-stocked with all the equipment we needed for cooking etc. The house is on the edge of the village, set well back from the (quiet) road down a gravel drive behind the church, so was very peaceful. There's a small village shop and a nice pub within walking distance. The nearest supermarket is a 15-minute drive away. Really pleased we chose The Old Rectory. I'd imagine it would be an amazing and cosy place for a Christmas-time get-together too, with the Aga in the kitchen and fireplaces in the two living rooms.
