Guests say

Garden Cottage is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and welcoming owner. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like fresh eggs and biscuits, and enjoy the convenience of walks and local pubs. Some mention the cottage's cosy atmosphere and gated parking. However, there are comments about the comfort of the furniture and the adequacy of heating and cooking facilities.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spotless and very clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness maintained by the owner.

The cottage's location is frequently praised for its peacefulness and proximity to walks and local amenities, contributing to a positive experience.

While many guests find the cottage cosy, there are several remarks about the comfort of the furniture and the challenges posed by low beams and sloping ceilings, suggesting room for improvement.

The cottage is well-equipped, but feedback indicates that the cooking facilities and heating could be updated, and the addition of items like a dustpan and brush would be beneficial.

Guests appreciate the welcoming touches such as biscuits and fresh eggs, although it's important to note that such gifts, while delightful, are not guaranteed with every stay.

About this property

Mickleton 0.5 miles.

A pretty stone and slate-built Grade II listed cottage, situated on the owner's working farm on the edge of the village of Mickleton. Formerly the gardener's cottage, the property has undergone a tasteful and imaginative conversion to provide very comfortable and well-equipped accommodation with character features such as sloping ceilings and timber beams. The cottage is surrounded by spectacular Teesdale countryside and makes a great base for exploring this unspoilt part of the Dales. Note: Garden Cottage adjoins Ref. 558 Westfield Cottage and the properties can be booked together to accommodate a group of up to 9.

Situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton is the small hamlet of Mickleton. Within Teesdale and just a few miles from the market town of Barnard Castle, this pretty village consists primarily of a cluster of stone houses set along a single street. With a post office, village shop and two pubs, Mickleton has everything a visitor could need. However for more specific amenities, Barnard Castle provides a huge range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Just on the doorstep are The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, providing beautiful walking routes through the local countryside. The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are also close by.
