Ebchester is a charming village perched on the edge of County Durham, a stone's throw away from the North Pennies Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is home to a well-stocked village shop with all the essentials you need for a holiday and a pub, Derwent Walk Inn, for those wanting a hearty meal or refreshing pint. You'll also find Ebchester West Wood, a stunning semi-natural woodland home to a vast variety of wildlife, where you can take morning walks or runs, breathing in the fresh air. The forest borders the River Derwent where you'll find a small cascading fall and during warmer months why not try some paddleboarding? Venture out and find the stunning village of Beamish, home to the world-famous Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, an open-air museum. Here you'll find another pub to dine at or have a classic fish and chips. Further afield is the bustling city of Newcastle upon Tyne, with its wealth of eateries and cafes for a family meal or a light lunch. Visit the beautiful cathedral, one of the city's museums, and when the sun is shining head to North or South Shields for a beach day.

The quality of the finish is superb . There is a bus stop outside that takes you to Newcastle . If you want to explore Hadrians wall ,Corbridge and Chester’s Fort are 25 min. scenic drive in one direction and Beamish is 25 min in the other direction . I had a swim in the Derwent just down the road ,a bit shallow and rocky but after a long day refreshing .

We were the first occupants of Barn 1 and we couldn't have asked for anything better. Everything was pristine and well stocked, cosy and comfortable with a much appreciated welcome pack. Regards Ian and Jean Stewart
