About this property

Delight in a stay at this gorgeous barn conversion and experience the beauty of the Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom, single-storey haven offers exquisite, beautifully finished accommodation 2 miles from Staithes and 7 miles from Saltburn-by-the-Sea. With fabulous walks right on the doorstep, it includes a private patio for outside relaxation in the summer after your trips out.

Wander inside to find beautiful barn features such as exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and revealed brickwork. The open-plan style of the lounge/diner ensures everyone can spread out while also being able to chat and spend time together. Gather around the wooden table to play games and dine, then retire to the lounge, with its colourful furnishings and TV to enjoy a film together. The generous kitchen, which has a bright, airy style, includes everything you need to help you cater for your party during your stay, plus a breakfast table for cups of tea and casual meals. There is also a double bedroom, with an en-suite shower room, at ground-floor level. A king-size bedroom, with a TV for lazy mornings in bed, and a twin are both on the first floor, along with the stylish family bathroom. The well-designed outside seating area includes ample space for unwinding together on fine days, as well as a BBQ where you can grill fresh Yorkshire produce to enjoy with a glass of wine.

Venture into Staithes to shop, dine out and pick up the Cleveland Way out along the coast. There is also a small sandy beach here. The longer beach in Saltburn is popular with both walkers and swimmers. Plan a day out to Whitby, 12 miles away, to spend time on the sand and to climb the 199 steps up to the famous abbey.

The barn is extremely well equipped especially the kitchen, and the sink faces a spectacular view over the valley. It’s very near to the sea and coastal path. We found the lounge area comfy in the evenings, and the dining area cosy for shared meals. We had the main bedroom downstairs and it has an excellent shower room, hanging space with mirror. There is a good outside area, handy if you have a dog, parking for two cars, and an outside area for eating alfresco. It was very clean and well presented. We had an excellent week there and the weather was fabulous.

A very cosy well equipped cottage, modern TV and comfortable. A very busy road but not really a problem.
