The Hollies in Bamburgh is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, prime location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and proximity to local amenities. The property's charm and the welcoming nature of the hosts contribute to a positive experience, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found the property to be very clean, with fresh sheets and tidy rooms. One mention of someone else's laundry in the washing machine suggests a minor oversight, but overall, the cleanliness is highly rated.
The location is consistently praised for being close to the beach, castle, and local eateries. Its central yet quiet positioning in Bamburgh makes it an ideal spot for guests, contributing to a high score.
Guests find the property warm and comfortable, with ample space and cosy beds. However, one review mentions an uncomfortable mattress and another a cold house upon arrival, slightly lowering the score.
The property is described as well-equipped, especially the kitchen. However, there are some concerns about maintenance, such as a non-working radiator and a fridge that freezes food, which affects the score.
While the provision of tea and coffee is appreciated, some guests noted the absence of a full log basket and milk, and one mentioned shop hours being irregular over Christmas. It's important to note that while these gestures are valued, they are not guaranteed.

The Hollies offers families a delightful home-from-home where truly memorable holidays are created.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Superbly equipped, very homely and a nice secure garden for the dogs, who also had a great stay! Fantastic to find such a lovely house that allows 3 dogs without having to compromise on quality.

It is a lovely, spacious house which retains it's period features but has all the modern facilities that you'd expect. The garden and courtyard were a bonus. It's location in Bamburgh is ideal, so handy for strolling into the village.

etc., couldn't have been any better for us! The house itself was lovely, clean and spacious. A perfect family home from home. We hope to return someday!
