This was our 10th visit to The Shiel! The weather has been mostly OK, but very, very windy! Lots to do, we enjoyed surfing lessons out of Beadnell Bay with KA Sports and we walked a bit more of the coastal path from Beadnell to Seahouses, where we enjoyed fudge donuts from Trotters the bakers! We walked from Craster to the beaches near the Bathing House (Howick), enjoying all of the interesting bays with so many rocks to climb and sea glass to find. We had pizza at BAE in Beadnell, and fish and chips from Lewis’s in Seahouses, finishing off with cherry ice cream at Wyndenwell in Bamburgh, enjoyed down the beach.

Lovely cottage and quiet setting. Enjoyed trips to Cragside, Holy Island and Floors Castle in Kelso. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you could need. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We’ve all had a lovely time. Loved the House Martins and hare on the lawn. Be careful on the lanes – we came across a deer when coming back from a boat trip! Can recommend the Farne Island trips, especially the evening trip where we saw dolphins, puffins and much more. We also enjoyed a great a meal at The Barn at Beal, with friendly staff and good food. We also really recommend Barter Books at Alnwick!
