Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, especially the bed, and the thoughtful welcome packs, which often include delightful treats like homemade banana cake. The property's location is ideal for exploring Northumberland's countryside and nearby historic sites. Despite a single mention of a lingering pet odour, the overwhelming majority of reviews celebrate the cleanliness, comfort, and the extra effort made by the hosts to ensure a memorable stay.
Guests consistently report that The Bothy is spotlessly clean, with only one minor comment about a pet odour, which seems to be an isolated incident. The attention to cleanliness is frequently commended.

Numerous guests have highlighted the comfort of The Bothy, particularly praising the quality of the bed and the cosiness provided by the log burner. The property is deemed warm and welcoming.
The Bothy is lauded for its well-equipped and modern kitchen, luxurious equipment, and overall maintenance. There is a single suggestion for improvement regarding outdoor space, but this does not detract significantly from the high ratings.
The hosts are frequently mentioned for their thoughtfulness, especially regarding the welcome packs that often include homemade treats. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

The property was extremely clean. I stayed alone with my dog and felt completely safe the entire time. Itâs in the perfect spot to visit the surrounding areas. Iâd love to come back in the summer months and make use of the decking. The welcoming gift touches were also appreciated.

Woke up on Saturday, to heavy snow, creating a mythical aura to the whole landscape. Fittings inside 10/10. Lights could be brighter, I couldn't read as quickly as I wanted, the fantastic selection of books left to enjoy. [ Staneley Pucci was my choice] I wanted to bring the bed back home. The perfect 7 days...

The property is very well equipped and comfortable for 2 people with a dog. The owners live in the adjacent Riding Hills farm so are on hand should you need them. The welcome pack was very good, one of the best we've had. Plenty of walks from the doorstep and the village of Riding Mill, which has a good pub and cafe/deli is about a 40 minute walk. Corbridge is a similar distance in the other direction. There is also a regular bus service from the main road (about 5 minutes walk) between Newcastle and Hexham. We really enjoyed it and will definitely book again for next year
