About this property

A bright and airy, semi-detached barn conversion with uninterrupted views towards the sea, just a short stroll from the popular coastal village of Embleton. Ideal for a couple or small family, this cottage is just a short walk from the beach. It has been decorated to a high standard and contains comfortable furnishings in its two bedrooms, as well as a large open plan living area and a well-equipped kitchen. This is a delightful cottage for a beachside Northumberland break. Note: This property can be booked alongside Refs. 924725, 930497, 930498, 936518, 947951, 949760, 970049, 970136, 970137, 970138, 1040639, 1040640, 1040642, 1112310, 1120842, 1122318, 1122319, 1122320, and 1122321, together sleeping a total of 87 guests.

The village of Embleton can be traced back to beyond medieval times and during the Wars of the Roses, it suffered much from the ravages of Scottish invaders. Today, ancient castles and ruins stand testament to Embleton's turbulent past; the Church of Holy Trinity is a late-Norman church, dating from the 12th century, later to be restored in Victorian times. Viewed from the sea, the undulating whinstone ridge that shelters much of the village from east winds, resembles a caterpillar, hence the old name 'Emeldune', meaning the hill of the caterpillar. The rolling countryside means that golfers can enjoy a good 18-hole links golf course that overlooks the beautiful Embleton Bay. Recently launched is the Embleton Heritage Trails Project, consisting of six trails, ranging from a short walk around the village, to a longer six mile route, following the spectacular coastline and inland into the tranquil countryside.

Each stay is allocated a number of slots, 7 night stay - 5 slots, 5 night stay - 3 slots,3 night stay - 2 slots.

The same time slot is not available to each property each day.Note: Caravans/ motor homes/ commercial vehicles (eg vans) are not permitted t o be parked outside the properties, there is alternative parking opposite the properties, just off the main site (it is still covered by our cctv) This is available by prior arrangement at a cost of £20).

    The only comment we would like to make re our stay was that the double bed was too soft for our liking, other than that every thing else was perfect.

    One or two suggestions, the bedrooms are lacking in wardrobe size and chest of draws for clothing, there was inadequate amount of oven cookware and the coat hooks sited in the hallway cupboard were not practical as wet coats would have dripped over the vacuum cleaner and ironing board. We enjoyed our week there and would love to return.
