Venture less than a mile towards the 18th century gothic Kielder Castle for the friendly village pub/restaurant. Meander through the Minotaur Maze and visit the popular street food diner within the castle grounds. The local garage sells some essentials, and the nearest shops are 6 miles away, so please come prepared. Two more pubs/restaurants are in Falstone and Shilling Pot (9 miles). Hire a bike to explore the myriad of mountain bike trails and children can follow the Gruffalo Spotters Trail. Explore the 26 mile Lakeside Way spotting wonderful wildlife and birds, and enjoy the night time splendours of the starry sky with Kielder Observatory 3 miles away. Access to this welcoming cottage is through the front door into a small hallway. Head into the bright and inviting lounge where you can rest weary legs after exploring this stunning area and the many visitor attractions.
