Kilrenny in Seahouses offers a comfortable stay with high-quality beds and linen, and a well-received outdoor space. The central location is appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and the inclusion of a parking permit is a bonus. The property has been recently refurbished, adding to its appeal. Some guests noted minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance, but overall experiences suggest a pleasant holiday home.
Guests have had mixed experiences with cleanliness. While some found the property immaculate, others reported issues such as an unclean outdoor table and an overflowing wheelie bin. The property seems to be well-kept in general, but there have been instances where cleanliness did not meet expectations.
The location is highly praised for its central position in Seahouses, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the harbour. The convenience of the parking permit, which is valid at multiple locations, is frequently mentioned as a positive aspect.
Comfort is consistently highlighted, with guests finding the beds and bedding of good quality. The property is described as comfortable and spacious, providing a home-like environment for guests.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture. However, there have been reports of maintenance issues such as non-functioning lights and a lack of instructions for appliances. These issues detract from the overall experience.
While some guests were disappointed with the absence of a welcome pack that was expected from the photographs, the provision of such gifts is not consistently mentioned across the reviews. Therefore, it cannot be confirmed if this is a standard offering or an occasional gesture, and a score cannot be provided.

However I felt the photo of the outside of the house was misleading. We travel the county a lot and stay in different types of properties, if there was a picture of the front of the house we wouldn't have stayed I'm afraid. (I understand this is personal taste). Unfortunately there were children coming into the garden banging the back door and throwing things at the windows and jumping on the nearby garage roofs. I found this unnerving and didn't leave our dog out in the garden on her own. Also the wheelie bin hadn't been emptied the previous week, when we arrived it was overflowing so our rubbish couldn't go either. After a few days we decided to leave earlier and booked somewhere else. A holiday is all about the experience and this sadly wasn't a good one for us.

It would help if there was a picture of the front of the house. The house is actually an extension of next door so is very difficult to see. The property downstairs was not clean, I have contacted Sykes about this and yet to receive a reply over 2 weeks now. We had to have an electrician out on the Sat morning to mend the lights in the kitchen as they were not working, and on Sunday tea time there was no hot water or heating available as presumably the gas bottles had run out. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and clean and the bathroom was clean. The garden lawn had not been cut and the outdoor table was not clean , there was rubbish under the outdoor table. The car parking permit works well if you are happy for your car to be in the main car park out of sight as definitely no parking by the property. Unfortunately the welcome pack which we were expecting from the pictures which looked to include wine and chocolates was not present when we arrived, and I was told that picture will be removed now if this is not being provided. The property is well placed for the centre and not far from the harbour and beach , the stay was spoilt with various hiccups that we were trying to sort out whilst only being there 3 nights, and still trying to resolve with Sykes.
