The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars as opposed to 5 was that the downstairs heating didnât seem to work very well which is essential in winter. The radiators in the lounge barely got warm even though we had checked they were on. The utility room and the upstairs were toasty but the lounge, kitchen and dining room werenât particularly warm unless you lit the log fire. The heating explanation in the pack didnât match the device on the wall in the utility that we saw and the âfurther heating instructionsâ in the appendix in the black house folder had been removed. We did find the walk from where you park the cars by the garage to the kitchen patio doors through the garden to be very dark and some solar lights may have helped guide us along the path in the rain in winter ( we had an elderly member in our party ). I also think you should specify in the instructions that the keys to enter the property are the ones to the kitchen patio doors and not the front or back door as you would have normally imagined. We arrived in the dark in winter and spent an anxious 5 mins wondering how to get into the house with our key as it didnât fit the front or back door to the property. However, we did have a lovely time and found the cottage to be nicely furnished, plenty of room and well equipped.
