The property's proximity to Chester and local pubs, alongside its suitability for family gatherings and special occasions, makes it a favoured choice.

The property is frequently described as clean and well-maintained, with guests noting the spotless condition upon arrival. The presence of fresh flowers and a well-aired house contribute to the high cleanliness standards appreciated by visitors.

The location is highly regarded due to its convenience for visiting Chester and nearby attractions. The availability of local pubs within walking distance and the ease of access to family-friendly activities contribute to the positive feedback on the property's location.

The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, sauna, and games room, are frequently praised. However, some guests mention minor issues with plumbing and the hot tub's maintenance. The addition of a games room and the presence of a sauna are particularly appreciated.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of welcome gifts such as home-baked cakes and the flexibility shown regarding check-in and check-out times. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Chester 3 miles. This outstanding, country home is set on a private cobbled courtyard in the village of Mickle Trafford, less than 3 miles from Chester City centre. This stunning period property oozes character and quality in its fixtures and fittings, having been carefully upgraded over many years by its existing owner and is perfect for those wishing to celebrate a special occasion. The main sitting room retains a feeling of informal grandeur, with elegant seating in the main area and informal cushioned window seats in the large bay window overlooking the pretty garden. A second snug reception room with garden doors leads through to the kitchen and dining area with breakfast counter and cosy dining table. A former servant's staircase leads up to the Cottage room, a romantic double bedroom with private balcony and en-suite bathroom. The main oak staircase winds up to three more bedrooms; the Balcony room with balcony and super king-size double bed with stylish en-suite facilities featuring a walk- in shower, the State room with an impressive emperor double bed, exposed oak wall frame and beams and master en-suite with double-ended bath, walk-in shower, bidet and twin basins, and the Green room which is equally well-furnished with a super king-size double bed with an en-suite bathroom and seating area. A second floor staircase leads you to the stylish and characterful Top room, furnished in an elegant 1950s style, and featuring a super king-size double bed and en-suite facilities. A summerhouse across the garden provides a tranquil heated retreat, allowing you to look back and admire the house and garden, and of course a property of this standard would not be complete with a hot tub to slip into for a well-earned pamper. For an added touch of luxury, end each day in style with an indulgent seat amongst the warmth of the elegant sauna whilst the little ones keep themselves entertained with a game of air hockey, pool or table football in the thrilling games room. Chester is home to excellent shopping and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Why not pay a visit to Chester Cathedral or perhaps take a boat trip along the beautiful River Dee and for animal and nature lovers no trip to Chester would be complete without a visit to Chester Zoo or the nearby Blue Planet Aquarium. This superb cottage will provide a truly memorable holiday for anyone lucky enough to stay in this fantastic holiday home.

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture.

Good base for Chester and North Wales. We were concerned about road noise but it wasn't an issue. Sam very accommodating and on hand should there be any problems.

There are a number of pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance for eating out. The garden is a delight with a covered seating area, hot tub, sauna and a games and music room. Sam, the owner, is a very friendly and helpful lady. I absolutely recommend this property as a comfortable base to explore this area of the country.
