Along the way, she encounters various animal friends on and around the family farm. A beautiful wooden sculpture trail to accompany the story can be enjoyed by guests, all proceeds from the book will go to Alder Hey Children's Charity, to thank them for their wonderful service, the book is able to be purchased directly from the owner, and so far over £13000 has been raised for this amazing charity. The animal adventures don’t stop there, as guests will have the opportunity to meet the animals that live onsite, and with ample space and areas for children to play The Shippon really is a great choice for animal lovers and families alike. Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.

The cottage was immaculately clean with lovely thick towel, bathrobes and slippers. A thoughtful welcome pack incudong a bottle of prosecco, which was lovely after a long journey. A couple of small issues were dealt with very quickly and efficiently, thank you Matt. Ideal location for visiting Chester, Liverpool and the Zoo. I would highly recommend this cottage, we had a wonderful time.

A lovely cottage in gorgeous grounds. The nature trail, the animal cams were just wonderful. Our granddaughter especially loved the goats. Lovely to find milk and prosecco in the fridge on arrival..all bases covered! Our only irritation was the sofa as mentioned by a few before us. It's okay for two but four adults and a toddler. It was cramped and a little uncomfortable. Also we found the shower water temperature as tepid bordering on cold. Would we stay here again? Absolutely Possibly in separate cottages...Matt our host was on hand if needed and really welcoming and warm. It's a great location for Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks too.
