To the rear of the property lies a lovely garden, where a tall hedge hides a secret garden that is waiting to be uncovered! When it comes to the local area, why not embark on a walk along the Duddon Estuary to Roanhead Beach or Sandscale Haws Nature Reserve; alternatively, if putting your thing, then be sure to venture north to Dunnerholme Golf Club! Spend the day in Ulverston, where you can embark on a hike to the Sir John Barrow Monument, tour the Laurel and Hardy Museum, and stop for a picnic in Ford Park before settling down to some amazing views and a delightful sunset and a pint at The Sun Inn. The Askham-Cockermouth west coast railway trip is also within easy reach and promises stunning day out. Barrow-in-Furness isn't far and is where you can discover the wonders of the seal sanctuary at Walney Island or why not visit Furness Abbey and The Dock Museum, along with the delights of Barrow Park and Barrow Golf Club! Take your break further by travelling into the Lake District National Park, where the woodlands of Grizedale, Lake Windermere with its surrounding towns, Coniston Water, and the peaks of Loughrigg Fell and Scafell Pike are all within easy reach. The civil parish of Askam-in-Furness is located on the Duddon Estuary, near Kirkby-in-Furness and Barrow-in-Furness. The community, which consists of two villages, Askam and Ireleth, is noted for being close to the Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve and the Lake District National Park, as well as the South Lakes Safari Zoo and Dunnerholme Golf Club. The London House, a classic pub providing traditional pub fare, is one of the dining choices; two more welcoming pubs, The Black Dog Inn and Railway Inn, are positioned on the community's fringes.
