Guests say

Guests have consistently praised The Duck House for its peaceful and cosy atmosphere, enhanced by a wood burner and its idyllic setting in the countryside. The hosts, Julie and Shaun, are commended for their friendliness and responsiveness. The property's proximity to local attractions and its suitability for pets and outdoor activities like cycling and walking are also highlighted as positives.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate assessment.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and proximity to the countryside, including Hadrian's Wall country, making it ideal for guests seeking a rural retreat.

The cottage is described as cosy and private, with a wood burner that adds to the comfort. However, one review mentioned it can be chilly in the bedroom without the heater, suggesting room for slight improvement.

While guests mention the wood burner and the presence of space heaters, there is insufficient detail to fully assess the facilities and maintenance.

The hosts are noted for their responsiveness and helpfulness. No gifts are mentioned, so while the hosts appear considerate, it cannot be guaranteed that guests will receive gifts during their stay.

The bed was so comfy and the linen felt lovely. The property was quite remote but perfect for exploring Hadrians wall and other roman sites nearby. The countryside was stunning! I can't fault anything from our stay

It was a perfect, remote place for us to stay over the new year to avoid the fireworks for our nervous dog. The fire was a perfect addition to make the cottage even cosier.

  • Beccy

The cottage was decorated in a nice, simple way. It accommodated for our Springer spaniel. The wood burner was a big selling point for us, making it very cosy in the dark nights
