Snaptrip says

Fig Cottage in Kirkby Stephen is highly praised for its cleanliness, modern amenities, and prime location close to local shops and scenic walks. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and additional features like a sauna and music system. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvement are noted, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests planning to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found Fig Cottage to be immaculately clean, with only one report of a dog odour and hair, which seems to be an isolated incident. The cleanliness is consistently highlighted as a strong point.

The location is frequently commended for its convenience, being a short walk from the town centre and close to lovely walks and pubs. The ease of access to local amenities and attractions is a standout feature.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the cottage spacious. However, some noted that the lounge seating was not sufficient for six people and that the heating was uneven between floors.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and extras like a sauna and foosball table. However, points are deducted for reported maintenance issues such as a non-functioning oven and leaking radiators.

While many reviews express appreciation for the cottage's amenities and features, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to assess this category.

House was perfect, would definitely book it again.

Easy access to the town for shops and restaurants was appreciated. For the walkers the opportunity to ‘do’ the Nine Standards walk to the top and back in a morning was great. A delicious meal in The Pennine Hotel was a perfect end to the day. We all thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief stay in Fig Cottage.
