Expect gorges and caves throughout the trip, and keep an eye out for the ten unique benchmark sculptures. One of Cumbria's best-kept secrets is the Eden Gorge, which is between Lazonby and Armathwaite. It is definitely worth exploring, and the nearby train station is a stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, one of the country's most picturesque rail routes. A short journey will take you to Brougham Castle, Long Meg and her daughters (the third-largest stone circle in England), Hadrian's Wall, the town of Penrith, and the ancient city of Carlisle. Thanks for letting us stay

The Nook had everything we could have hoped for, with plenty of space both inside and out. The handy instructions meant we quickly got to grips with the basics of Aga cooking, although the glorious weather meant that the barbeque saw more action that it usually might in May. Our first visit but I suspect not our last. Thanks for a great holiday.
