About this property

A recently renovated, stone built, one bedroom conversion of former farm buildings situated on the owners' working farm within the Dales National Park. A modern, contemporary holiday home set out over one floor with an open plan design to take advantage of the magnificent views across the Howgill Fells. With large patio doors giving open and uninterrupted views, the spacious living area takes up the main area with a lovely sitting area designed to enjoy the views, a modern well equipped kitchen and dining area leading through to an open plan bedroom with super king-size bed. The adjoining wet room is spacious and provides a modern facility, ideal for relaxing after a hard day out on the fells. A great place to get away from it all, enjoy a romantic break, enjoy the many footpaths and the challenges of this wild and rugged area and perhaps even spot the odd red squirrel, or spring lambs during lambing season. . Enjoy a quiet and tranquil evening gazing at the stars. The lovely old town of Sedbergh is just 2 miles away, and a little further afield the Three Peaks challenge. An ideal touring base with both the Dales and the Lake District National Parks on the doorstep. Note: This property adjoins Ref 1292 and 1097, together they sleep 12.

Sedbergh set at the foot of the dramatic and wild Howgill Fells, is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale. Sedbergh is situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, has an olde worlde atmosphere. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey

Sorry we do not accept pets, this property is well catered to guest with pet allergies.

Note: The unit is disabled friendly with a ramp provided for access, extra width doors and disabled facilities for the wet room available.

Note: There's no door between the living area and the bedroom.

There are lambs at the owners farm, as of April 2023, which you are welcome to interact with during your stay!

    A working farm, and you can see how much work that is, with having to see to the sheep of an evening, trio of sheepdogs off in the back of the jeep. We cycled, walked, and dipped into spectacular pools at the waterfall on the sunny days, and enjoyed reading and watching the 3 turkeys playing tag with Ben the sheepdog on the wet days. Sedbergh is a lovely little town with a great home-grown cultural life, independent shops (not only 2nd hand book shops, also crafts and independent greengrocer etc.) and quaint streets. And even in the height of the season, there are not the traffic jams and crowds of the main tourist centres; a great plus. Highly recommend.

    Wheelchair accessibility is great. We stayed in, one particularly rainy day, but still had that wonderful view to look out on. Lilly is a wonderful host, thank you.

    Much bigger than expected. The owners were very friendly. Well set up for those with disabilities. Ramp into cottage. Wide doors. Accessible wet room with a bathing seat. King size bed. Good seating. Can't fault anything with the property.
